September 16th Sunday from 9:30-2:30pm we
have been invited to participate in a People Helping
People Fest sponsored
by the Center for Spiritual Discovery in Costa Mesa www.cmcsd.org in
conjunction with UCI. We attended last year and found for TiasArms some
of our volunteers (you may recognize yourselves).
Volunteer
opportunity:
a) To help man our table and represent
our volunteer needs. You can do this for an hour or two or more. Please
e-mail Joanne at tias_arms@yahoo.com
b) You
can attend some of the day and sign up for volunteer hours. For
every 12 hours donated to a non-profit of your choice (hopefully yours
will be Tias Arms), we will earn ourselves a Blues
Band performance
at our next event of choice. Since most of you give more than these
number of hours anyway, this is a good opportunity to "register" those
hours and we get the music!

website. 100%
of the funds raised by walkers are sent directly to the selected
charity. To assist you in your efforts to raise funds through
the Walk for Hope, we have crafted an email that you can forward
to friends and supporters. Your Charity is pre-selected on
the linked webpage in this email. Some charities are also opting
to get a booth at the Walk for Hope. For more information on how

WALK FOR HOPE

The
Walk for Hope is a reminder of the things that matter most in life. The
entire 5 K route is decorated with hundreds of inspiring quotes, all
of them hand-made. You can also expect to find interactive activities
placed along the walk route. This is entirely FREE. Tias
Arms thanks Be The Cause for their
gift to non-profits such as ours in creating this walk. This has been a wonderful opportunity for
Tias Arms not only to come together as a team but also to raise substantial
money for our cause. This will be our 4th year participating. Last
year we had 53 walkers and raised around $3,500.
Volunteer
opportunity:
a) Team captain. To help spread the word, answer
questions, and guide folks through the registering on-line process. If
you are a Hoag co-worker with Joanne, Roger Williams has volunteered
to be a co-team captain. Please call me at 949 650-6254 if you
are interested in this position. It could be FUN!!!!!!!!
b) To
help (wo)man our table at the event If you would like to walk this year,

October 29th Monday 6-8pm South African
Wine Tasting at Mozambique in Laguna Still in the
formative planning stages. Please mark your calendar. We
had a great time at the last Wine Tasting that we had for Tias Arms.
